I'm looking to buy land just outside of the Denver metro area...possibly 10 to 20 acres to have room for my dogs to run. But am also looking at the area around Salida. I love an outdoorsy kind of town...
Anyone have any opinions or experience in either of these areas in Colorado?
Am possibly looking to finally leave Florida and make the big move to be near the kids

I go to the Salida area for work. I love the people there, it still has a rural feel, and it's a couple of hours to denver, springs or pueblo max in the winter. But it is in the mtns so the winter would be a shock for you.

I doubt you could find 10 - 20 acres just outside Denver, with the possible exception of east of DIA (which would be pretty far from Denver). Salida might be a better choice. I take it work is not a factor?

You could also look along SH83, south from Parker to Colorado Springs. There are many areas that would fit. Another is south of Castle Rock along SH105 thru Larkspur to Palmer Lake. This area is located along the foothills and is absolutely gorgeous.
