Her family is looking to move from Illinois to Denver area, I think she said Wheat Ridge in August. She's contacted a few realtors who have been kind of rude when she inquired about rental properties.

I realize realtors don't make much from rentals, but is there a realtor who deals with rental properties that can help her?

I'll forward replies to her, or link her to the thread..
Thanks!!
Jenny

Look for Realtors who are property managers. You can find them advertising properties for rent. Not many Realtors work the rental market. Tell them to try paddmapper.com.

Why don't Realtors help tenants find property? See DaveBarnes post in Real Estate Information.

Ah, must be different out there then. I'm in the process of moving to Houston and I had several agents offering to take me around to rent a home there. I'll direct her to the site. Thanks!

Rental Homes & Property Management, Boulder & Denver Colorado | 8z Rentals
Craigslist
Padmapper.com

Some landlords only put signs on the lawn. (I know that is true where I live next door to Wheat Ridge.)

I moved to Wheat Ridge from out of state last year and found the place I'm leasing through a Realtor who owns her own property. I didn't know her, but did some checking up on her, and eventually sent her a money order to hold the apt for me. I then moved out here a month later and things have been going well from the time I met her. If you'd like her info, send me a message. Just fyi, I don't get anything out of this and I'm not a realtor. I should also disclose that I may be moving out this Fall when my lease ends but only because I'm considering moving closer to work and school. I can't recommend my unit for anyone I know (or know of) because it's so tiny (about 500 sq ft) although it has its own little yard which I love. My landlord does have other units which are much bigger.

Good luck!

In some markets MLS has rentals, in Denver they do not. In markets with rentals it's not too difficult to get a realtor to do that, but I am guess without an assurance they will get a commission they won't do it.

We are currently spending a month here in a rental we found on AirBnB. The property owner's father is a realtor who also does property management, so he might be able to help. Send me a PM if you want his contact info.

(Disclaimer: I haven't worked with him, so I can't vouch for him. But his son/our AirBnB landlord has been fantastic to work with, so if the apple didn't fall far from the tree, then the father/realtor should be good to work with too.)
