Default Where is a good place to live near the cherry creek mall?

I am moving to denver next month and i love the cherry creek area. Does anyone know anything about the seasons at cherry creek? it looks amazing. Also where are some other sky-rises in the cc area? im looking for something within walking distance to the mall and will mountain or city views? Also just any advice/info about the area would be great. And also the same thing with Belmar, if anyone knows anything about the Belmar area, or a great place(condo's or sky-rise apartments) that is nice to live. Any info about shoppes, activites, parks would be great. Thanks so much!i

Both are great areas, but Cherry Creek is incredible expensive for what you get in the low rise/high-rise structures. If you want walking distance to the mall, you will pay for just that alone. Then toss in a mountain view high-rise living and you could easily be in the million dollar range if buying. West of the Denver Country Club is where you will find the high-rises as there are only low rise buildings east of the mall. You won't find city views east of the mall, sans the big 3 buildings downtown, but you can see more as you move west of the Country Club. North is mini-McMansions that have taken over an older neighborhood of smaller homes. You can find 2 - 4 story condos and townhomes there as well, but since it is walking distance to the mall and north CC shopping, it is also expensive. If you plan to rent a condo expect to pay what will be would be comparable to a mortgage in that area. What is your price range and reason for wanting to be by the mall? Is work located in that area?

Belmar has become a very hot area for entertainment and a lot of building is still happening there, condos and apartments. It is the burbs but has a more urban feel. More affordable then Cherry Creek.

DenverAztec, with respect, as I have learned that you have good knowledge of the City of Denver. However, I do not think that Belmar is anywhere as comparable to the Cherry Creek Area. There is Cherry Creek Shopping Center and Belmar does not have that level of shopping. In addition, the other shops are more expansive and unique than the chain shops in the "faux" downtown of Belmar. Also Cherry Creek is in a "real urban" area near Downtown Denver, parks, and the other great areas of Denver. Belmar just sits in the middle of a somewhat nice but blander suburban experience.

I would like to suggest another area near Cherry Creek that will becoming a good area--that is where the University Hospital, VA Hospital and Medical School are leaving, at 9th and Colorado. There are plans, in the works, to create a good urban living, shopping community that will have many advantages being close to Cherry Creek and the real urban excitement of Denver. I think Hale Parkway which goes through this area will be known as a new upscale address location.

I only mention Belmar because the OP asked about it. There is no way to compare the Cherry Creek shopping (Nordstom, Tiffany, Saks) with Belmar (Gap, Coldwater Creek, P.F. Chang), hence my question to the OP, why do they want to live in these two areas? I do state that Belmar is in the burbs, but given that the OP is moving out here next month, they should give us more details so we can best help them. Living within walking distance of the number one tourist attraction, the CC Mall, is going to cost and a one month leeway could be difficult.

You are very correct. I apologize; I should have read the OP more thoroughly. I find your post very informative and the pictures are great--you certainly know Denver.
