If you give the specifics of the places you are considering, people can give more educated advice about those particular neighborhoods. But rents in Denver are pretty high so you should expect to get less for your money than you might hope.

With the exception of St. George all the cities on the list are hot and humid during the summer. I personally wouldn't want to live in any of them. Denton is DFW's red-headed stepchild, Round Rock is the same to Austin, and Temple's just kinda meh. I'll gladly pay a little more to live here.

I've heard there's some good apartments near Water World in Feral Heights you may be interested in.

I really did laugh out loud at this - I like the humor. Feral Heights is on my list of places to visit... I can't believe I haven't been there yet!

There is a neighborhood close by called Hale and Mayfair. Some are apartments, others are condos for rent.

Basically, look at a 3-5 mile radius of Colorado Blvd & 9th.

There are some apartment buildings off of Hale Pkwy and Albion or Ash that a friend of mine who is a nurse lived in. I think his rent was in that range. Perfectly nice place to live.

Keep looking in the 80220 zip code (Mayfair/Hale). You will be much happier than any of these locations
