Some rec centers have fun birthday party options like swimming or open gym. They are usually pretty reasonable.

When we moved to Denver 2 years ago, it was a week before our oldest's birthday, so the 4 of us went there for lack of a better option. Our kids loved it! It was almost surreal.......I have never been anyplace like it.
