My Prius does well in the snow. Traction control helps a lot!

Do you know if there will be any snow in Vail by November 21st? Do they manufacture it to make sure or is it hit/miss?

We plan on flying to Denver around the 22nd and heading over to Vail around Nov 23rd for a few days.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure Vail is a "guarantee" for snow by then. If for some odd reason it's been unusually dry, they'll be producing their own snow well before then. They just opened A-Basin the other day and have been making snow.

According to Colorado Ski Resorts | California Ski Resorts | Snow.com (Vail Resorts main website), Vail opens on Nov 21st. Among the latest for their places.

I generally don't hit Vail until after Christmas. Keystone seems better at making snow early, so I like to go there early in the season. My fav part of Vail is the back bowls (China Bowl in particular) and they just can't cover all of that with the man made stuff (though its not for a lack of effort). Once they get a few big storms out back, then Vail really gets fun to me.

Thanks to denverian and step33. I wasn't sure if they would start making their own snow before then or not. Exciting trip to Colorado for us = we will be spending two nights in Boulder (first time to really visit Boulder other then quick drive throughs) and of course Vail for a few days of skiing and then finish off at the Broadmoor. Have never seen Colorado Springs or that historic hotel.

Chilly start to the week but it will warm up nicely by the end of the week. The mountains need the snow badly.
