Glad to say that I don't live in any of those.

I moved from a median income area of $102,000 to $43,000....explains the huge shock I felt the first month or two at my new home. All good now but it did take getting used to the changes. I'm happy to be with "old and newcomers" and "emerald city" vs. "soccer moms." No offense to them but I was too young for where I was living.

The density also really got to me in my new city as well, 5,000 people per square mile vs. 645! I found there are people everywhere once you get out of the suburbs. Still don't like that part.

I think it got too confusing for them! Cherry Hills' zipcode 80113 also includes the opposite end of the socio-economic spectrum that borders their neighborhood. Not too impressed with the research.

From 2004 thru 2007, we had a house in #15 (80134) and we loved it! It was a 28 mile drive for me to work/downtown Denver and back, but that was fine.

Funny, when a house came up for sale there (80134), I told a co-worker about it and she said "why would I want to live in that snobby area?" Well, that didn't sit too good with me, so I replied, "At least we don't hear sirens and police helicopter overhead every-other night, like some areas of Denver metro do! If some folks can afford to live in a nicer/safer area, more power to them!" She walked out of the Break Room after I said that. I knew where this co-worker lived and all I could think to myself was "no thanks".

We liked living in Parker and Castle Rock and Highlands Ranch were pretty nice as well.

And none in Boulder - the only one in Boulder County is 80027 (all of Louisville & Superior) in last place on the list at number 25.

I live in none of those areas, or even close, but about this time last year I was looking at a townhouse in the 80016 area code (ranked 11th). The townhouse was in my price range, and was largely being considered because my sister was moving here, and I figured a bigger place would be a good idea. Plus, the location would be more convenient for *both* our jobs (my current place is good for mine, and okay-but-could-be-better for hers).

There were pros and cons to both neighborhoods, in my opinion. Obviously, the 80016 one is a *lot* wealthier than my current one, but it didn't seem 'snobbish'.

Though something I did was check out the local Safeway in the area, and it surprised me how many more options it had than mine does. So now, every so often, I wander to a grocery store way out of where I usually shop, just to compare the differences. It does seem that the richer the neighborhood, the more variety the grocery store has.

Funny thing is, I had a former friend who thinks my area is 'rich'. I guess everything's relative. She was rather 'reverse-snob' about it, though, saying she wouldn't be caught dead in such a 'snobby neighborhood'. Meanwhile, I was thinking, "Your apartment's been broken into three times, if you're not careful, you're going to be caught dead in *your* neighborhood."

I live in Aurora. Not far from where the Buckingham Square Mall used to be. Given that most people shriek that I'm 'in the ghetto', you can imagine how hard I laughed when she accused me of living in a 'rich, snobby area'.

Income by ZIP code is silly.
Income by Census Tract makes more sense.
Doing it by ZIP code proves that the person doing the research has no clue about how ZIP codes work in the wild west.
