Not happy with my current eye doc. Anybody have a recommendation? I want an MD not an optometrist.

Thanks.

Are you looking for someone just to perform regular exams on healthy eyes or someone to treat an on-going condition? I have several: an optometrist who performs general exams and prescribes my corrective lenses; a retinologist (DO), who performs the tests needed to monitor the progress of my eye disease; and an opthamologist (MD), who works with my retinologist and prescribes/monitors the medications used to treat my condition. All have different areas of expertise. BTW, the optometrist was the one who correctly identified my rare eye disease, so don't write optometrists off because they're not MDs.

A ophthalmologist for regular eye exams. I've always used an MD over an optometrist.

Stuart H. Frankel, M.D. | Rebecca J Brock, M.D., | Matthew M. Kruger, M.D.

I see Dr. Frankel, who is on the 5280 list. Highly recommend.

1. NOT an ophthalmologist
2. Inside Costco for medical care? This must be your wry sense of humor.

I can recommend Jason Jacobs, MD, next to Porter Hospital, though it will probably take a long time to get an appointment for a non-urgent matter.
P.S. I am a retired ophthalmologist.
