I will be moving to the Denver area soon and have been looking at houses online. I am looking in and around Broomfield. I am coming from Texas and I don't understand why there are so many 2 bedroom houses. I have seen 3000+ sqft, 2 bedroom houses. That makes no sense to me. How do you have more than one child in such a house? Thanks!
Alan

55+ retirement communities and empty nesters I would imagine. Can you provide some example properties?

According to realtor.com, there are 189 three bedroom (or more) houses in Broomfield ranging in price from $182,000 to nearly $3 million. That's about 64% of the 276 currently listed for sale. Seems like there should be plenty to choose from.

Depending on where exactly you want to be, you could also look in Westminster, Thornton, Arvada, etc.

Starter home? Bachelor pad? Gay couple? It does seem like a pretty specific choice for a house that size. From the listing, the schools are awful so maybe there's just no demand among families with kids in that area.

A lot of these probably have finished basements with rooms that can not be legally counted as bedrooms because they don't meet egress requirements.

3. There is/could be a 3rd and 4th conforming bedrooms in the basement.

Thanks, everyone. I guess I can't believe how many 55+ communities are in the area I am interested in. I have not run into those in TX.
