During rush hour times (6:00-9:00 or so in the morning and 3:30-6:00 or so in the evening), this area can become very congested. I don't usually have problems on weekends, but it all depends on the number of people on the road.

I live in Erie and I-25 south to Denver is extremely convenient without any traffic, but it seems anymore that it gets bogged down somewhere along the line and it's simply not worth it. I now take Hwy 287 all the way down to 36 and over to I-25. It's longer mileage-wise, but much quicker time-wise.

As has been stated numerous times, it all depends on how many people are on the road, an accident or weather conditions. In typical morning rush hour conditions (with dry roads and high volume), this can take 25-30 minutes. If there is an accident or the weather is poor, you can easily double the time.
