Hello,

Considering the way sound travels through the forest ~ Could someone look at this listing and tell me if noise would be a problem?? Thanks!!

Yes, it's pretty certain that you would have highway noise especially trucks changing gears. In addition, Saddleback Ridge is a neighborhood on the north facing side of a pretty steep mountain so you will have limited sun and many, many driveways are super sketchy up there. The wind whips along that corridor something fierce as well. It is an Evergreen address, but you have to hop on the service roads or I-70 to actually get back to Evergreen proper. It's pretty segregated.

Quick story...when my husband and I were looking for land to build we had Saddleback Ridge Estates on our list of properties to look at. The guy in the development office had us follow him up towards the lots. It was January and the roads were very icy. He claimed "you can see all the way to DIA from up there". Well, no guardrails and ice = white knuckle drive. I pictured myself going over the mountainside and never seeing my 3 boys again. My husband (who is a huge risk taker) turned the car around himself without me asking and told the guy we weren't going any further.

I couldn't picture myself having to go back to the store if I forgot milk and couldn't imagine having to cart my kids to school and all of their sports and activities day in and day out from that location in Evergreen.

Sorry to sounds like I'm being negative, but I'm from NYC and I am pretty straightforward and tell it like it is

Thanks so much for your information... You don't sound negative at all ~ this is the real information I'm seeking.
My husband was concerned about the noise factor. And I have read about the northside facing versus southside facing ~ It makes a big difference.. Thanks again for your response.

Good thing is you don't need a car, just ski down the roads.
Getting back up will be a challenge though.

You and I are in the minority. We need more of our type out here, especially some NYC Sean Avery and Bruce Cutler clones. Too many people out here like to sugarcoat and join in on gossip, rumors, and lies and whatever is trendy at the moment.

Just another point to consider, that property is in the Clear Creek County school system,
Where as most of Evergreen and Conifer proper are both in Jefferson County.

Traffic noise will carry further depending with the direction of the wind. Obviously, being up wind of traffic is highly desirable, but not always possible.

Yes, we'd be a lot better off if we had more stereotypical New Yorkers and Jerseyites in Colorado. There's not nearly enough yelling or screaming around here. Come to think of it, living close to I-70 WOULD sound a lot like living in the industrialized northeast.
