Hi guys!

A friend of mine suggested we go to the Broker Steak House while in Denver in Feb. , but she hasn't visited it since 1996. Can any of you recommend this restaurant?

I've eaten there twice in the past year. It's downtown on 17th St. in the basement of an old bank. I don't eat red meat, so I don't know anything about steaks. I had fish and wine, both very good. It's definitely an upscale restaurant where you want to dress nice - more for special occassions. I believe my meal with wine was around $45 - $50. Steak would be more.

It's expensive and kind of stodgy, though the food, service, and atmosphere is excellent. It's a dress-up place (by Denver standares), though you can get away with khakis if you want.

They actually have a deal that you can get a free meal on the actual day of your birthday. I've eaten there on my birthday several times; of course, my partner has to order at menu price. No way I'd eat there if it wasn't a birthday -- way too expensive!

very expensive though, and being in the vault of the old bank is very neat.

Yeah, it was my birthday when we ate there last month too. My partner is cheap!
