There is a tacqueria on 120th in the Broomfield area around the Sill-Terhar dealership (just down from the Mazda division). I believe it's just called "Tacqueria" and it is a total hole. It's in a strip mall with a laundry mat and a liquor store!
![]() Delicious food and extremely friendly Mexican employees! |

There seems to be a different taco/burrito place on every block on E. Colfax (Monaco to Peoria) through Aurora. I've never tried any of them though. There are probably a few gems in the area, with so many restaurants. They look like they're authentic and run/owned by Mexicans.

oh by the way, what's up with this green chile thing? Is it just a Denver thing?
It's cool, I know different locales are going to have different styles.....just wondering. |

The style of Mexican food will be different from California. Denver taquerias are most similar to NM-style (though not as good as NM), note the generous use of green chile, though here the green chile is thicker and soupier than NM, and always has pork (which is not characteristic in NM though sometimes you'll find it there too).
Other posters have already mentioned some of the favorite Mexican places, but it's not hard to find a hole-in-the-wall place, that's what you're looking for. Drive down Federal between about I-70 and 285 or so, they are everywhere. One per block, at least. Sheridan is also not a bad place to check, also W 38th. As for pizza, protos on 15th and Platte is good. |

It's a Colorado thing. And, as others have observed, it is not the same as New Mexican, nor Texan, nor Californian, nor Arizonan.

Tacos Jalisco - Now we're talking! Very tasty burrito adovada (with the obligatory green chile)! And only $3.00, that's how it should be done. Blew away Chipotle and Chubby's
![]() I'll be going back there I'm sure. The server was way cool too and explained how the green chile thing was a colorado thing. Thanks guys, will try out some of the other suggestions too! Tim |
