Lot of homeless or street panhandlers want money for beer and drugs here, not interested in food or shelter its really depressing and sad especially when you see a homeless kid.

Yeah, I'm living downtown and it's a mess. The most homeless I've ever seen...

The older lady, by Mc Donalds, seemed to be supplementing her social security by being a panhandler; at least that was the theory.

You could go broke giving to all the people that tug at your heart. One year, I had a real nice bumper crop of apples, gave those to the panhandlers and they looked at me like I was nuts...... & yeah "still crazy after all these years."

Actually, one dude asked me for money so he could buy a beer. I was like "Um, no." But I did respect the honesty.

The best sign I saw from a guy panhandling at I-25 and Colfax was: "My Wife Had The Better Lawyer."

I had no choice but to throw him a dollar for that.

That comes under Entertainment Expense in your family budget / tax deduction listing.

I usually give food, like a happy meal or something. One time this past november, I saw a couple outside of Walmart with a sign. I had leftover turkey with me and offered to give them a bag. The guy told me he was watching his weight. What a croc. The economy was bad for awhile and we're along two interstates so it makes sense to see more panhandlers.

Saw a guy a few days ago around arapahoe and broadway with a sign that read;

Those are great signs, I like the why lie, need money for beer and weed was the most honest sign I ever seen from a homeless. Those other signs are more funny but kinda sad.
