83 new breweries opened in Washington last year (more than any other state), while only 55 opened in Colorado. What's going on?

Maybe Colorado is over saturated with breweries.

Colorado started long before Washington did.

Washington population - 7,061,530

Colorado population - 5,355,866

Has anyone found any new Denver breweries worth visiting? The last few I've been to ranged from decent (Mockery, Ratio) to meh (Spangalang, Beryl) to awful (Zephyr).

You need to hit up Dry Dock, Grist or Lone Tree Brewery. There are many more that are pretty darn good in my opinion.

Too bad I have temporarily given up beer.

This. According to the Brewers association, Colorado has more per capita breweries than Washington. 4.7 vs 4.
