Is it more important to you to be close to the mountains or is it more important to have all of the amenities? Because you are MUCH more likely to find what you are looking for in Aurora (and even then it might be a bit of a stretch).

I just haven't heard great things about the east side of the city, including Aurora, but that could be wrong. Do you know anything about that area and if it's a good place to live? The only thing about being out in that area would be the longer commute to Lakewood for my husband, but if you know of good places out there, I am definitely willing to check them out!

The east side isn't considered to be as nice, mostly because it is farther away from the mountains which is the main draw of the city to most people. However excluding a few enclaves here and there it is no worse than any of the other suburbs. Due to the lack of draw you are going to find fewer young exciting professionals and less night life, it's going to mostly be younger or working class families... But for a young working family like my own It suits us just fine.

Thanks so much, history nerd! We were looking at being on the west side to be more convenient to the mountains because we want to go hiking and biking and skiing a lot...but are definitely willing to look at the east side, as long as it doesn't look like his commute would be too terrible. I'll definitely check out that area when I go next week! Thanks!!
