Sure the slummy areas that had old decrepit apartment with crime around, nothing going on for retail and weren't trendy yet had some cheap old falling apart places for low prices. But nothing that most people considered desirable as adult professionals was cheap.
I rented my West Wash Park 2BR for $2K in 2008, it's now $2,800.

Are you claiming that Denver rent prices haven't soared in the past few years?

No of course not. Our real estate fell in 2008 along with the rest of the country. The new home developments around me ground to halt with some even in bankruptcy. Things recovered back to 2002 levels for my house in 2013 because housing started to become scarce. I pshwaed because you over discounting the level of rent by quite a bit for a "nice" place.

Yup. Same cost as our mortgage for our 2300 sq ft house with heated In ground pool on a .5 acre lot back east.
