I just happened to look at the 9News site, and they have 555 closings listed. 555. I wonder if that's a record, I've never seen anything close to that.

ETA: my place of employment is not one of them! lol!

I'm trying to get up the courage to go out and wack some bushes with a broom.

what job is so crucial that they don't allow snow days (aside from hospitals/police/EMS/firefighters)?

And make that 559 and now my work is on the list, they are closing soon. This is the first time they've closed for weather since I've been working there (4 years).

I run a courier business, we don't have snow days. If you won't work in the snow, you won't work for us.

For the first time in 9 years, we are closing ground operations (until 6pm tonight). My call.

I work at a hospital, although not one with people admitted overnight but they try to not ever close during our regular hours so that if a patient can get there, they will be seen. But obviously at some point, no one is getting there anyway. Obviously the hospitals with admitted patients and emergency rooms will continue to stay open although I would assume non-essential people are being sent home.

I don't know about you guys but we are getting creamed here in west Lakewood. My AWD GS350 got stuck right outside my garage. Took us 45 mins to get it back in. Cars are completely stuck in the middle of our complex and both plow trucks got stuck!!!!

I'm very concerned because I've got a vital drs apt tomorrow and we're completely stuck in and even if we could get out we've got 3 cars completely blocking our path

I feel sorry for all the people without power. We had about a minute outage this morning and it scared me. I was all set to start closing the blinds and buttoning up. We have a generator but not sure how much gas on hand. Thankfully ours came right back on.

Last I measured it was 24" on our back deck table. About an hour before it was 17.5 so coming down hard and fast. Haven't been out recently but there is a noticeable increase over the 24".

I keep checking Facebook to see if anyone local is offering snow removal services, but so far no one is. I have the snowblower but I really do not feel like dealing with this. I'm going to wait a little bit longer with my fingers crossed!
