Hello everyone! My boyfriend and I are planning on moving to Lakewood around Spring of 2017. We are both born and raised in Arizona, and are looking for something new and exciting. We both love Colorado, and were especially drawn to Lakewood. I am a social worker and he is a soon to be chef.
We are looking to buy a townhouse or condo; any recommendations on neighborhoods or areas we should stay away from or look in to? Neither of us have lived outside of Arizona, so any help you can give us would be lovely!

The vast majority of Lakewood is fine, but the more south and west you go, the better it tends to be.

This! We moved here from AZ 3 years ago. Highly recommend renting before you buy. Get to know the area. There are lots of great Colorado cities to explore.

We were hoping to rent before buying, but every place we've looked at so far has a pet limit of 2, and we have 3. Anyone know if this rule is truly enforced in Lakewood? It seems a little odd that every apartment complex in the area has this rule.

If you violate the rental agreement you are subject to eviction. Why take that risk?

24 here and moved out here about a year and a half ago with my girlfriend. We moved to Lakewood. We absolutely love it out here. We looked around months ago when our first lease is up and we decided to stay in Lakewood. We are southern Lakewood right on the border of Littleton. Great shopping and things to do and only about 10-15 minutes to downtown. Except for about a mile stretch south of Belmar it is a really clean area as well
