Default Pit Bull friendly rental Arvada/Lakewood CO?

Hi, I'm looking for an apartment around Arvada or Lakewood Colorado that has no breed restrictions against Pit bulls/ Staffordshire terriers.

I have done quite a bit of research and am having trouble locating one. Does anyone know of apartments friendly to pits or know anyone who rents with a pit and how they managed this feat?

Background info: I have found the perfect dog to rescue, and have been visiting and training him at the shelter 3-4 days a week, 2 hours at a time for a month now. He is very friendly, a quick learner, and shows no signs of human/child agression. I plan to adopt him and enroll in major obedience training over the summer in WA, with plans for a canine good citizenship in the future. That is, if I can find an apartment that will allow pit bulls when I come back to CO in Aug08. I take dog ownership and control seriously, and religiously believe in leashes and long walks/jogs (once in the morning before school and again when I get home). Helpful information is very appreciated!

Very respectfully,
KK

I don't know either. You might have better luck looking for a small house/duplex to rent. I also don't know which cities ban the breed - I'm in Denver and they're banned here. He is a very nice looking dog!

Maybe a place to call would be the Dumb Friends League?
Dumb Friends League/Humane Society of Denver, Colorado, USA
They might be able to point you in the right direction.
The Longmont Humane Society might also give some good advice:
Longmont Humane Society
They are one of the few places I think that take in pit bulls. If you look at the virtual kennel you will see that a large majority of the dogs are pit bulls or pit bull mixes.
Hope you find something

KK, the bigger issue is what cities outlaw pitbulls. All of the cities in the Denver metro area have their own laws, so you need to contact each one and then looking for an apartment within a city that actually allows them.

Good Luck!

Thank you, I called the humane societies, they didn't know any in particular but seemed to agree that renting a house or duplex might be easier.

If I remember right its Denver and Aurora that ban pit bulls so far
