Interesting info.

BTW, I specifically wrote "the section of I-25 that runs through]Denver." I didn't say "that runs through Downtown." Because I'd never thought the "Valley Highway" only referred to the section near downtown, and your explanation explains why I didn't.

Had a similar issue to OP. Moved to Denver, then got a jury duty notice for Arapahoe County. Freaked me out because the Batman trial was upcoming, and if I got called I was willing to move out of the county/state to avoid that. No, it would not be a 6-month vacation from the hassles of work, my work would still need to get done. By me, after jury duty.

Later read that of the 9,000 people called, 2,000 showed up with proof that they did not even live in Arapahoe County. I emailed them and later got a Denver notice, but still a waste of time.

Who writes the software that generates these jury notices? It would seem that even the first day on the job programmer would know not to waste time and money sending out Arapahoe County notices to people with a Denver street address.

Job is probably done by an outside contractor that is paid by the envelope

People who live in Glendale (80246) and the Holly Hills area of unincorporated Arapahoe County (80222) have Denver zip codes.

Also Northglenn, Thornton, parts of Adams County, Edgewater and most of Lakewood, have Denver zip codes. Parts of Southeast Denver (Denver Tech Center) have Englewood zip codes, and parts of Southwest Denver have Littleton zip codes.

Just noticed that great zip code map totally ignores Centennial! It must have been created before 2001 when Centennial was incorporated.

Centennial does not have its own ZipCode. It is covered by either an Aurora 8001X or Englewood 801XX Zip Code, per USPS at https://tools.usps.com/go/ZipLookupAction_input

Neither does Lone Tree, incorporated in 1996. It uses a Littleton Zip of 80124

The zip codes pre-date Centennial. Just like they pre-date Lakewood and Northglenn. The mail for Centennial is handled by the Littleton and Englewood post offices. Even if the letter is addressed to a Centennial address.

Exactly!

When we lived in Centennial, it didn't matter if the mail was addressed to Englewood or Centennial or wherever. As long as the zip code was correct, then the mail would make it to us.

When I worked in Northglenn, that was the case as well for mail sent there. Ditto here in Louisville/Superior, which share 80027.
