Hey guys....we just moved to Aurora in December. Moved from the Houston area. My husband has a job close to Chambers and 38th. We are renting very close by. We are looking for a house under 320000..... What are thoughts on the Oakwood homes in Green valley ranch?
It's so confusing.....we hear horror stories about where we live as well as GVR... We are a white couple in our late 40's, very laid back. Would Love to live in foothills but the commute would be a killer. Ideas on good location please.....

Stay NE of Denver for an easy commute. There are a lot of communities in that area. $320,000 is the hang up as prices are rising.

My understanding is that there are parts of GVR that are quite nice. Don't know enough about it to say whether the specific community you are talking about it in that area, so I hope that someone will weigh in with more detailed info, but certainly it sounds like a good location based on the job location, and I'm assuming you've done the preliminary research to know that it fits your budget. As 2bindenver says, your price point is on the lower side for Denver metro, so I don't know that you are going to have tons of options.

Check out Cross Creek or Murphy Creek in Far East Aurora. Reunion in Commerce City. Maybe parts of SE Aurora.

My brother and his fiancé live in GVR and they like it. There in there early 40's. The had a lot of break ins in there neighborhood last summer but it has died down since then. Other then that the area seems fairly nice. If you want to go a bit more north look into the reunion area, that's where we are and it is amazing, its a little area of our own and everyone here is really friendly. We haven't had any issues in the almost 2 years we have been here. Its pricey for houses but everywhere is right now with the housing market.
