And DU does not permit weapons on campus anyway so at least for your example, it's not likely a DU student would be carrying a gun.

If you open carry you're instantly identified as a threat by an aggressor and lose any element of surprise in your response. Plus, I'm not sure how much of a deterrent factor open carry is compared to concealed carry- I personally don't think it is.

Not going to happen if you have a group of friends that are open carry.

They allow DU students to have firearms on campus and stored in the lockers.

Which still wouldn't help the person in your example would it?

I'm going to guess Denver county has a lot of rape sympathizers? It would help with Lockers.

God forbid. But don't divert from the topic just because you didn't get the answers you were looking for... That's such a silly conclusion to get to, even if you did quickly edit your comment

No, they don't.

These Student Conduct Policies set forth prohibited behavior for students:
Quote:
Any possession or use of Weapons, ammunition, explosives, fireworks, or other objects designed or used to inflict injury or damage while on University Premises, even if the student possesses a valid concealed weapons permit or other lawful permission to carry a Weapon.

If you're in a group, armed or otherwise, than what are the chances that you're going to get assaulted? Statistically you've just plummeted to the bottom.

But if you're part of an armed group of friends than I had better just lure you into a complex ambush organized by my armed group of friends who are better organized. So you than need to think about that and get a larger group of armed friends and begin to organize....

.... ohhh, this is going to be fun.
