Denver Art Museum -- WITH PHOTO'S
I'm in Colorado right now visiting from Seattle. I was born in Denver and really like the way the city has grown and evolved. I'm planning on visiting the new Denver Art Museum on this trip. Has anyone been there? When is the best time to visit to avoid the crowds, on the weekends? Early in the day or later? Thanks for your help.

I've been; the LED exhibit can be disorienting. Some love it, some just get dizzy. But go; it's well worth experiencing. Go whenever you'd like. I've never found it to be so crowded that it's not enjoyable.

My husband and I found the angles to be our biggest problem. We actually couldn't stay in the new side for very long and from hearing others talk, we weren't the only ones.
We went on the free day, so yes avoid that if possible because it was really crowded.

We went on a free day when it was snowing; was not too bad. I'd probaby avoid first thing in the morning or right after lunch if you do that. We were there later in the afternoon.

Nice pix. Ironically, I started this thread yesterday on "About the Forum" and used our forums as a shining example.

Don't get me wrong, I love pictures. But it takes so long for my computer to download them, that I get very impatient. These, I must say, didn't take long, but I think this is about the longest download I can handle.

I think there is a very simple solution... just hit the red X ...

at the top of the menu bar (in IE anyway) and that will stop the pictures from loading. The text in the thread always seems to load first so all of the text should be visible even if the photos are not.

Y'know, Moby, I really like your pictures and I LIKE to look at them. I have even posted some in other forums when people start talking about "Sprawlorado", etc. But I don't want to have to wait for them to download before I can read the rest of the thread. I have hit the stop button at times, but I kinda like the picture forums.
When people post links, it's also easier to quote them w/o the pix. Some of us aren't the most computer literate.

Wow! Love the design of this building. Love to see it when we visit this year

But like suzco said generally speaking it definitely worthwhile to go. Here are a few pics from last months free saturday... sorry for the focus on the kids... DenverAztec has some amazing photos of the museum itself and some of the artwork, but I don't think he has posted it on this forum yet. The Art Museum is on the left, the Museum Residences is on the right and the Public Library is in the background...
