Thank you everyone. I wasn't even thinking about Colorado Springs because it looked too far on a map. But the drive to the airport is only about an hour and the home prices seem really affordable! What is up with the crime rate statistics for Colorado Springs though?? I may have to start a whole other thread on that question

I would love either a trader joes, whole foods, or some other natural food markets close by. I would also love to find a good Christian church (open to interpretation, I know,) some access to trout fishing, walking/hiking trails.

For the house I would prefer newer, or at least something that doesn't require a lot of updating.

And yes, all schools 7 or above.
I travel for work and live near downtown Evergreen. It takes me roughly an hour and fifteen minutes to reach DIA on fair weather days and 45 minutes for DT Denver. If you're interested in being near hiking trails with good schools, then you may want want to give the mountain communities a look, or at the very least look along the western suburbs. There's lots of walking trails around the Denver Metro area but much of it is simply old farmland that's been converted to open space, which is nice in it's own way. Good Luck.

Before starting with a whole other thread about crime stats in CS, you could check the CS subforum. There are plenty of threads there about the different areas.

You will have a lot more options in Longmont, which is a much bigger city than Berthoud. If you are sold on living in a very, very small town, Berthoud is your option.

It's kind of far, depending on where exactly within the city limits you live. If you're trying to keep it less than an hour, I think that's kind of pushing it, especially if there's any sort of traffic or bad weather.

but I've never lived there nor made that commute personally. I've just done a lot of driving between Denver and Wyoming.
