The only place I'd live outside the city of Denver is Boulder. Otherwise, the entire state is off my list.

There are a lot of places I could live in this state if I didn't need to be so close to DIA, but Front Range I could do old Golden and Boulder. Wouldn't care much to live in any other suburbs.

I'd like to have the money to live in Cherry Hills Village.

I'd rather be in Hawaii and BV.

I could sell my Wash Park house and live in Cherry Hills. It just doesn't appeal to me.

Generally speaking -- there are MANY exceptions -- I would say that the southwestern suburbs are the best and the northeastern suburbs are the worst if one is looking for middle-class to affluent neighborhoods.

I really like my Columbine (bordering on Ken Caryl) neighborhood, but then I do realize that "Brady Bunch suburbia" is not to everyone's liking.

Default Neighorhoods to Avoid In Denver Colorado

1. Montbello, Concord, Gateway, Greenvalley Ranch (NE Denver)

At first glance, these far northeast Denver neighborhoods look like normal middle class suburban areas. But on close inspection (Use Google Street View) you can see that this is a troubled area.

Many of the houses have bars on all of the windows and a large number of homes are not kept up at all. The area has very high crime much of gang related. There are shootings and murders on a consistant basis. The schools are some of the worst in the state. Many of the homes are rentals with Section 8 tenants.

I would not recommend this part of Denver, the reason the housing prices are lower here is because it is not a safe area and there is high gang activity.

2. Stapleton

This newly redeveloped area of the former Stapleton International airport is located in the Northeast section of the city and it is also plagued with crime and gang activity.

3. North Aurora

My advise to anyone is to stay south of Iliff Avenue if you looking in Aurora, crime and gang activity is high in the north end of the city.
