Favorite coffee places
My husband and I are new to town and are having a good time trying different coffee shops. I'm curious to know where some of the favorites are (NO STARBUCKS ALLOWED) and the type of "vibe" they have to them. Thanks in advance and I hope this post will inspire some other people to venture outside their Starbucks box and support local businesses.

golden coffee shop
Hi, my husband and I just moved here too, from AZ. Check out downtown Golden, we found a cool coffee shop on the main drag downtown. I don't remember the name, but there's not much down there, so you'll find it. Not good for an everyday use, but cool nonetheless.

Stella's on South Pearl in Platt Park (across the street from the famous Sushi Den). Funky/cool/casual.

Vic's in downtown Louisville is in an old hardware store. There are some other indi shops in downtown Lsvl as well, plus one in Christopher Village on S. Boulder Rd, one in the King Sooper's shopping center on S. Boulder, and one in the Sam's Club/Kohl's/Albertsons's shopping center on McCaslin Blvd.

My favorites were the aforementioned Stella's, and the Diedrich's on 9th.
This was more for atmosphere and people-watching than primo coffee.
I see there is a Peet's on Second Avenue now. I like Peet's coffee, and the people-watching there would be good.

Leela European Cafe on 15th Street Downtown is a good choice with great live music, and is actually open 24 hours (pity more coffee shops don't follow suit). Common Grounds is another good choice with two locations: one in Lodo and another in Highland Square. They also have frequent open mike nights and music, poetry, etc. The Tattered Cover Bookstore, with one location in LoDo and the other on East Colfax, is a great place to drink coffee and read books (they're very laid back there). Hooked On Colfax is also a fine place to go; also very laid-back. Perk Hill in the Park Hill neighborhood is a great place as well. Michaelangelo's on South Broadway (near the baker neighborhood) is another place to try.
There are many others. Denver has multiple independent coffee shops in every single neighborhood, so you can pretty much go anywhere and be set.

We love our Trident, on Pearl Street, West of the mall. We go to Vic's pretty often because it's so close to home, but honestly, Peet's has the best coffee ever. Ever.

I like Dazbog, there are a few around town. Love they're mochas. Supposedly they are a russian coffee place (so they're better....?) and they're coffee is "richer".
Anyway, I like it.
