I would look at houses along the Smoky Hill Road corridor - some are in Centennial, some in Aurora.
It would be a fast commute, put you in the Cherry Creek School district and provide lots of access to trails/green space in the neighborhoods as well as put you close to Cherry Creek State Park.

Some examples:
4747 S. Ivory Court, Aurora, CO 80015 | Zillow

5152 S Hannibal Way, Centennial, CO 80015 | MLS #6189255 | Zillow

14589 E Navarro Pl, Aurora, CO 80014 | MLS #7876306 | Zillow

That is the problem with Zillow, Trulia & Homes - just to name a few of the syndicators, the listing on Hannibal sold on 11/30/2015. The other two are available, as of right now.

True, but it still gives a reasonable idea of what's out there.
I think a lot of people overlook the areas between/around Smoky Hill and Orchard likely because they see "Aurora" and cross it right off the list of possibilities.
There are some gorgeous properties in that area and it is so convenient, access-wise, to Nine Mile, I225, etc. as well as to shopping and dining.
