If needed yes at least until we can move closer. How bad does it get? I thought there was a major highway (25?)

Yes, I-25 is either a highway or a parking lot.

Yes, I-25 is a major highway. But it snows in Colorado. Do a little research about Monument Hill in the winter. There have been discussions on this forum about this very subject.

One example from last November:

EL PASO COUNTY -

Many drivers went head-to-head with the storm, but couldn't overcome the adverse conditions. The Colorado State Patrol reported that more than 100 drivers were stranded on Interstate 25. The Colorado Department of Transportation shut down southbound lanes between Castle Rock and Monument because of the poor conditions. All lanes reopened around 7:30.

I-25 is a major highway, but the road is fairly congested between Denver and Colorado Springs. It's also two lanes in each direction from Monument Hill to just south of Castle Rock. Wrecks are common between Greenland and Larkspur and when they happen they can double or even triple your commute time. Same goes for a blizzard.

Snow is common - especially near Monument Hill. Monument averages 110" of snowfall per year - twice the amount Denver averages, and three times more than Colorado Springs.

It may seem like an easy commute because it's an interstate highway, but it's really not.

3. Have you ever driven in snow? If the answer is "no", then don't even think of living very far from work. Castle Rock may look close to the south end of Denver on paper, but you don't want to do that drive in the snow.
She prefers that area/training facility, of course, and her career {Equine} (not sure what you mean by that question). I have lived all over including the midwest and east coast giving me over 30 years of driving in the snow.

15 miles east of Castle Rock. Not ideal but can you beat it?

How many bedrooms do you need? If it is 3, you very likely aren't going to find this price in closer. If it is 2, you might find something at very top of your budget. If you can't find it on your own, try a realtor or property management company and see if they can do any better, with knowledge of the market. It seems like a longshot though. Probably will have to compromise on something.
Thank you.. we upped out budget a bit and two bedroom, also decided we could share a bathroom if need to.
