Hi everyone,

I'd really appreciate some insight into the schools for which the Piney Creek neighborhood is assigned. Specifically, Laredo Middle School and Smoky Hill HS. Our kids are still young, so we have a number of years before we hit middle school. I am so drawn to the beauty of the homes in the area, but compared to other Centennial neighborhoods we are exploring, the schools seem under-performing or lower rated. At least on paper, which is all I have to go off of at this point. Can those who live in Piney Creek please weigh in? Are the schools solid and steady, or on any sort of downturn? Do most/many families send their kids to the public schools, or do a good number choose private? Thank you!

Thankfully you have some time before your kiddos are in high school. Smoky Hill HS is kind of a mess. You're better off getting them into Grandview or Cherokee Trail (in that order).

We used to be in Cherry Creek district and know a lot of kids who still attend. While Piney Creek area is nice, I would never send my kids to Laredo or Smoky Hill as both draw from a much lower demographic and have the problems that tend to go with that. I would go with Grandview or Cherokee Trails like mentioned above.
