I'm a recent college grad from Ohio that majored in video production. I've been to the city 3 times now and have fell in love with the culture and possibly want to move there!

Is there many jobs for someone in film? Or many film companies? I currently am a freelance photographer. How's the photography market?

Any help is greatly appreciated. I've considered Los Angeles. But that culture isn't nearly as fitting/the traffic/cost of living.. But career wise is ideal.

Thanks!

Colorado has one of the better film schools in the country. There is a lot of competition for jobs out here.

The industry has been growing here, but compared to living in CA or NY, your options will be very limited.

I used to be in the Graphic Design/Film industry before I switched to Business/IT.

To be honest, you will have more luck in other mid sized cities. I feel like any city will have a decent freelance market, but the competition is so much greater out here. You have people coming in with 10-15+ years of experience who came here from LA/NY/Chicago.

Your best bet would be to move somewhere that has a better market. Get your experience, build up your Reel, and then come back into this market when the city grows a bit and you have more negotiable experience.
