My daughter (24) is moving to Denver in July. She is an elementary school Music teacher. She and her S.O. found a one bedroom apartment for $1200 (ouch), someplace between Aurora and the Airport. She obviously loves music and is a remarkable singer also an accomplished musician (clarinet, baritone, I forget what else - harp a little bit). Not a heavy drinker/partier. Likes light hiking. Already attached so not interested in singles scene. Not a sports fan. Otherwise she is pretty open to anything entertaining, especially unusual/unique things. She loves to read, loves theater, and likes movies. Her SO, about all I know is he likes Dungeons & Dragons and similar games, computer gaming, camping.

She does not know much about Denver, nor do I. I have passed through the airport on ski trips and on the freeway several times and once visited the worlds largest flea market long ago (1987) About all I know about Denver is it is where you catch the shuttle to go skiing.

I imagine people here have lots of things worth seeing/doing both for her, and for me if I go visit (I like challenging hiking/climbing, history, architecture, rafting canoeing/kayaking).

Do you have some good community chorus/orchestra she could join?

Any must see/do things?

Other suggestions?

Thank you.

As to things to do/see in general while visiting, there's a good list on TripAdvisor: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attracti..._Colorado.html The Denver and Colorado discussion forums there might also be helpful.

Your daughter will probably quickly network with other musicians. I'm not a musician, but I know there are several orchestras, choral groups, and ensembles. I've attended performances by several of them over the years.

A quick Google search found this: DMCOA.org

In the Denver metro area, the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District provides funding to many organizations. Their website has a search feature. I just searched for "music" as the discipline and found 141 organizations listed, with contact info.
