Hi, My company just bought another company and there will be layoffs . I have enquired and HR says if I take a lateral move to the Denver area they will not give me a cost of living increase . I make 23.56 an hour and over time is limited . Where can I afford to live by myself ? I have no debt but I might have to buy a car so there is that and the full coverage ins. Are there any places maybe in Littleton that are older and less expensive but not an area where people park there cars in the front yard ? I prefer not to live in a heavy blue collar area with trucks like heating and air cond and pest control and security alarm trucks parked . I don't smoke cigarettes either. Not that I am prejudiced . I don't mind loud music either just not real early or real late . I prefer not to change my oil in the driveway but if other people do that is ok . I don't smoke weed either. I don't mind if I smell it though. kids are ok as long as they are polite. I hate cockroaches .
I might work in Highlands ranch or on Mineral ave ....

Are you renting or buying? Rent in Littleton for 1br is 1000-1200, 2br is 1300-1600 or so.

Buying -- look at $275k+

I will have to rent as I do not have enough income to qualify for a house and not enough savings for the down payment . I have read that some apts require that your income before deductions needs to be 2/3 more than the rent

You can rent just about anywhere on 23/hr.

I make $10 less than you an hour and don't see much overtime and live in West Highlands with 1 roommate, you will be in good shape, just be proactive in your search.
