I would imagine it was a very wet snow, which means heavier and more damage. Hopefully we won't have another of those anytime soon.

I've seen a number of March blizzards. My DD's birthday is in March; we had many close calls with birthday parties, but none were ever snowed out.

This is esp the time of year there is no normal, 40 degree changes are "normal".
