OP, ignore the naysayers. People move here all the time without a job lined up and make it work. It won't be super easy or comfortable, but it's doable. At the very minimum you could get a delivery or waiter position quickly, which contrary to popular belief does pay enough to live here, and then job hunt on the off hours.

Minimum wage here is $9.30 currently and scheduled for $ .90 a year annual increases until 2020.

If you're looking for a call center position, Dish Network in Thornton is always hiring. When I worked there in 2013 the starting wage was $11 an hour with all kinds of bonuses dependent on performance (Whether you would enjoy working at Dish is an entirely separate topic, but nevertheless the opportunity exists)

The Lone tree, Parker area are nice and safe, but as a whole Douglas county is not as affordable as your research shows. The median income is 107k. I have yet to see a home for rent in Parker under 1800 and that's the low end and apartments are just as bad. I wouldn't trust Zillow to gauge pricing. Castle Rock which is south of Parker and lone tree is a little more affordable as far as home prices go. There quite a few call centers near by however, they start typically at 12 and hour which is not survivable in my opinion with the rising cost of living. All and all the affordability of Colorado is not what it used to be. Cheaper than California but not for much longer.

These are people who are probably very negative in their own life and so probably they do attract more negative experiences and don't have many positive things to speak of. I've always been more up for taking chances and trying new things and it's mostly worked out for the better.
I absolutely love your attitude. I am from Australia originally, then lived in St Louis and now here in Denver for 5.5 years. If I wanted or had to move again I would totally be up for it but for now I love it here.

Wow its $9.30 now for minimum wage. Thats good to know. I checked a few years back and it was like $7.25. Well I guess if COL is increasing there they must start paying more too. Unemployment seems low also. Im also considering OR but they unemployment rate there is pretty bad. The minimum wage is higher but less people able to get the jobs. And dish network? Thanks for tip. I will check into that. Someone said parker is expensive and yes maybe its expensive for CO but still cheap compared to where I am now. I found a studio apartment there for less than $1100. I was hopijg to pay $900 to $1000 for a studio so yes this is slightly more but it has a washer and dryer in the studio which is rare, and the complex looked really nice, had a big outdoor pool. And if someone doesnt liked being called negative, then dont always be sharing negative experiences. Kind of simple. Two people can have the same plight but handle it totally different with different attitudes. I like to take risks and try new things. Worse case... it doesnt work out and you learned... thats road you traveled wasnt for you.
