So I've been looking at Portland for a while and between a climate only slightly better than here in New England (warmer, better summers, but cloudy and rainy maybe a tad more than I can take) I find that my general employment field is pretty clogged with "graphic artists" waiting tables like junior actors in LA. Not good.

So what does Denver have for a 50+ generalist with 30+ years of experience in every area of publishing, publications, graphics, photography, video, presentation, trade show support, all on top of an even longer track record in (nonfic/reference/business) writing, editing and publishing? Who started with blueline board and film and is now master/trainer level on Creative Cloud and associated platforms?

Also with two Great Danes, but their only job skills are sleeping and yawning.

For someone with your level of expertise? Probably not much. Graphic design in Denver is a very closed community...mostly small shops. The big ones have folded. If you want to find a decent paying job, you'd probably have to freelance as no one is willing to pay top dollar for experience because there are a lot of local designers in the same boat.
