South East Aurora has some very nice neighborhoods that can still be affordable (well in Denver standards anyway). Plenty of green space surrounding the neighborhoods too and a somewhat easier commute.

IMNSHO no somewhat about it. I worked on the southern end of the DTC near Arapahoe and I-25. I could tool straight down Arapahoe and make it from my house near Southlands to work in under 30 minutes without having to pay a single penny in tolls.
