If you would be living in Capital Hill and working in Lakewood, you would be going against traffic during rush hour. I take 6 from Sheridan to Union everyday and I think I have been in traffic once this year because of an accident.

If you want something similar to the feel of where you live now in Louisville, I agree with the others who have suggested the Berkeley / Highland area. It's really nice - walkable but calmer and more of a cozy neighborhood feel. If you want something more urban than where you are now, I'd look to Cap Hill.

Our apartment off Bardstown Road in Louisville was maybe my favorite place I've ever lived. I would be looking in North Denver if we could afford it...

Hah! I get called a Highlands snob, of course I'd move a thousand miles away to another Highlands .

Thanks for the info! I LOVE living near Bardstown Road. I am however ready for a change.

FYI, this morning a little after 8:00 I drove west through Capitol Hill area and out 6, and other than some construction-related clogs in the neighborhood on 8th, it was a very easy drive. 6 was light traffic and smooth sailing all the way.

My husband works in Golden and makes that drive out 6 every day, and he says it's an easy commute. And as others may have mentioned, it's always nice to drive with the sun, so you're headed west in the morning and east in the afternoon (re: glare).
