Meeshodge, I'm wondering if you ever found something - I know this post is a year old. Your situation sounds very similar to mine... we are empty nesters relocating to Denver metro for work - husband will be working at Children's hospital. Curious if you ended up relocating and your experience. Thanks!

OP hasn't been active on here in over a year. They were also looking at moving to Moore, Oklahoma, so there's no telling if they even ended up here.

With your 350k budget in mind, and the fact that you're empty nesters, I'd look at Green Valley Ranch. It's likely within your budget. You may also be able to find housing in the east-central part of Aurora near Quincy Highlands.

I just did this search and decided on a townhome in Aurora not too far from the Denver border. There are plenty of SFH in the 300-350k range, but they are either older with some cosmetic updates needed, or a bit small especially the tri levels. Just stay south of Mississippi or even better Iliff and there are plenty of options and you will feel plenty safe.

Funny how people pay extra for the privilege to say they live in Denver when there is no difference in the quality of the neighborhoods compared to the S/SE areas of Denver including the one I was living in.

Funny how some people don't know that Denver Public Schools are much better choices than Aurora Public Schools in most of the areas of east Denver that border Aurora. That is why I pay to live in Denver rather than Aurora, since that gives me the location I want for easy access and close proximity to my job, but gives me a school that I am happy to send my child to.
