I added a poll to this thread to make it easier for readers to tally the results of the many posts that will probably show up here.

I'm in Northeast Denver rather than Northwest, but overall, Verizon has the best service. However as noted by others, there are some differences based on very specific locations, so you are much better off waiting until you get here and figuring out what works best in all the locations you need to have consistent service.

My cell phone is Verizon. My car has a full-time cellular data connection via AT&T (for maps/nav, internet radio, built-in browser, data mining by HQ for autopilot improvements, etc.) Many places in the mountains Verizon is better, with one exception - Arapahoe Basin. There is an AT&T repeater on top of the mid mountain restaurant. There is no Verizon coverage there.

Around the city, and along I-25, I'd call them equal.

Verizon is pretty flakey in Denver. I recall my last job in Broomfield that once I got inside the office building I would have any service and maybe get like a bar or two on I-36 as well. So weird how the coverage between Denver and Boulder is so weak for Verizon.
