Hello reader(s), long time lurker here. Thanks for being such a great resource of information.

Long story short, my husband is a Data Scientist and I am a Web Developer. Obviously the appeal of Denver is the proximity to the mountains and the thriving art/music scene. We are contemplating a move to Denver, CO, and wondering what the best neighborhoods would be for us to live in. We have been reading about the Denver Tech Center. What areas of Denver are most of the tech jobs located? Also of note, we have a child so good schools are a must.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

There are tech jobs all over. The DTC is one hub, also downtown, Interlocken in Broomfield and Boulder. Plus lots of tech jobs everywhere else as well.

What is your priority in terms of a neighborhood? I.e.: walkable to food/ shops/ entertainment? Or do you want more land? Do you want to be in the suburbs or not? What are you planning to do in the mountains and how close do you want to be? Etc.

I think this has more to do with your personal preference and less to do with your tech jobs (those are all over - including working completely remote)... unless you have jobs already lined up?

In addition to ponyupgrl's questions -- what is your budget?

While Denver Tech Center has been the main tech hub in the past this is changing. Broomfield Interlocken and Boulder have attracted quite a few tech companies over the past couple of years and this area is now becoming a hub of its own.

Boulder Valley School District is rated highly and covers a vast amount of family-friendly neighborhoods, including the west side of Broomfield which may be more affordable than living in Boulder but still gives you easy access to get up to the mountains, the airport, into Denver etc.

As others have suggested, budget may play a role in which area would be better for your family.
