If I moved back to Dallas I'd have to start smoking pot and quadruple my bourbon intake as a coping mechanism.

I get that a lot out in CA - total misconception. "Why did you leave Denver, too cold?"

"No I'm from the Northeast - now that's a lot colder than CO."

Shouldn't be a problem.

If it was required I would have been kicked out already. I don't use it but I support its legalization.

I love talking to my friends outside of the state. Most of them have never visited but they think they know what it is like here. I just laugh it off.

Granted, Wednesday night was pretty darn cold, and even Thursday still had a ton of snow laying around everywhere.

By some measures (Southwestern particularly), that is an indeed frigid experience.

I mean, there's still more snow on my grass right now than Los Angeles has seen in my lifetime. So there's that.

Perspective. The Air Force Academy almost ended up in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin or Alton, Illinois because the chair of the selection committee thought Colorado was snowbound most the year. It certainly didn't help that his site visit in April was buried under a spring snowstorm.

It was in the 30s the evening Deputy Gumm was killed and people came out for the procession. That's pretty cold.
