Average Land/Real Estate Cost?
What would the average price for an acre of land or a two bedroom house (for example) be, in the surrounding rural (quite) areas outside of Denver? My parents are relocating to Denver from southern VA and I was trying to give them ideas!
Thanks
L

What happened when you used any of the numerous internet real estate databases to get this information?

Most info. is basically saying 150, 000 for a 2 bedroom ranch house and up-----
Basically what I should be asking is, where are the best country/rural areas outside denver, that are not to pricey and are safe!?

Mike from back east created two excellent index threads for the Colorado forums. If you look at those index threads, you'll find links to threads about real estate and living in many communities.
You can ask your questions in any of the existing threads if you have more questions.

It depends on whether you are thinking mountains or plains. If you're thinking plains, try Elbert County. If you're thinking mountains, try Conifer, Pine, or Coal Creek Canyon. For all of those, price is entirely based on proximity to Denver. Are you looking to commute to Denver? Prices drop pretty rapidly once you pass about 60-90 minute commute distance to Denver.

Are they going to be working?
Are you (they) considering living near places with high quality, convenient medical care? Shopping? Activities?

They don't care about being super close to Denver, they live in the mountains and are happy with the scenery, just want a better quality of life, more work and people to meet!

Check out Zillow.com, actually you can get some pretty specific info on areas through it.

a good rule of thumb, the closer you get to the mountains, the more expensive the land and house.
