Moving to Denver
Hi there
i have been offered a job in Denver (an aussi living in the UK) having just spent 2 weeks working there, based at the Colorado Hospital in the research departments. trying to figure out a suitable place to live, that is near downtown (i was staying with a friend near Capitol Hill and liked it alot) though doesnt mean huge commute to work - inevitable... can anyone mention any areas nearer to work that might be within biking distance (45 mins ok each way) - i am clueless as to neighbourhoods around there - keen to be near a few local shops - food...
thanks alot. cant find the postcode though... aka the Fitzsimmons campus...
cheers!

You could probably bike there from much of Stapleton. IStapleton is quite different than Cap Hill, but you'd probably like it. Unfortunately, I can't think of much else around Fitzsimmons that I would recommend at this time; it's not in the greatest neighborhood, though the hospital may help improve the neighborhood over time.

You might want to look at the Denver Index Thread.
You can browse through some of those threads to get a sense about more Denver neighborhoods.

Good advice from suzco, plus the postal code is probably in Aurora (for the hospital area). Keep in mind, you won't be able to bike every day. Although we have many warm, sunny winter days, there are also cold, snowy days when you will need car/bus transportation. Spring is the rainy season, so be prepared for that, too. So look for something close to public transportation.
My daughter is a student at that campus and she lives near the U of Denver, which is a neat area, IMO. Lots of what you are looking for.
