To each their own. Personally, living in a sunny, constantly warm weather climate like San Diego sounds so boring. I don't want to spend the holidays on the patio. I love a great blizzard. I'm not sure why people equate warm climates with idealism. Plus, Denver's climate is more temperate than most people realize. Just don't share the secret

Clearly not when comparing Denver to those cities. There are hundreds of other cities though.

But I'll bite...all of the places you listed pay most professions considerably more.

Sorry. I'll make more of an attempt to side with the popular opinion going forward.

You don’t need to do that. You can hold a counter opinion without calling everyone who is living here stupid. Here’s how that might look: “Gee, Denver has gotten expensive! It’s not for me, but apparently a lot of people like it enough to pay those prices.”

See how that works?

Hi, can you provide proof I made such a statement?

Did you say "everyone" no, but you said it, and trying to weasel out of it by parsing each word just makes you look bad.

I should probably have said balloon nut bubble. The market will deflate not implode. Lending is stricter.

I understand supply and demand, but how many can afford $540,000 on Denver salaries? We have similar issues in OC right now.

A recession is already being forecasted in the next 2 years by smart money.

I can understand $540 in OC due to their great coastal location, huge employment base and near perfect year-round climate.
No way would I spend that in Denver--it has none of those three qualities. It's an apples to oranges comparison IMO.

Isn't $540K in the OC quite reasonable by their standards? I know the home I grew up in San Diego is worth around $600K and but it has turned into a dumpy neighborhood that has no pride of ownership. It wouldn't be on my short places to live if I moved back.
