That is how I felt when I came out in October. I didn't want to leave and really felt at home. I almost didn't leave, but I realized I had to go back to Ohio, get my stuff, turn around and come on back! Get out of Michigan. The quicker you can get out here the better you will be!

Great to hear all of the positive reactions from visitors and I was really excited to experience that first hand when showing Daniel T around. It also got me out to some places I have not been in years like Buffalo Bills grave on top of Lookout Mountain. Daniel's enthusiasm was contagious and helped me to remember to get out and enjoy more of what is around. Much to do and see here and if anyone wants advice specific to your interest for a possible visit, let me know.

Denver isn't for everyone and it is not perfect, no place is, but the pros easily out weight the cons. Housing prices are high due to the popularity of the city. However, a few couples in my building recently had children and wanted to move from a condo to a home with a yard. They have found great deals with focusing on foreclosed properties, as there are many across the country at the moment, sadly.

We had absolutly no intention of staying there because as far as we where concern Denver was nothing more than a hole in the ground in the middle of nowhere AND where undoubtedly the locals would look like they would had been perfectly cast for the movie "DELIVERANCE"
Isn't that funny!!???
Not only didn't we go to L.A. but we ended up staying till Monday afternoon!!.
When we woke up on Friday morning we couldn't believe our eyes,we spend all day driving all around the city,we almost didn't make it the the game.We spend the rest of the week-end going everywhere.. just enjoying the city with it's great clubs, friendly people,GORGEOUS ladies and the flabbergasting beauty of the city and its surrounding.Since i have return to Montreal from Denver i have been thinking and wishing only for one thing witch is to go back to Denver and live there for the rest of my days.

I have been to Montreal three times, hopefully people aren't as rude in Denver as they have been in Montreal. It's obvious why you'd want to leave there. (No offense to you at all, you seem great. I just hope how they treat people in Denver is the complete opposite of how they treat you in Montreal.)

Wow, another fellow Michagander ready to flee. I have lived in Michigan for the majority of my life, (Sault Ste. Marie, Owosso, Saginaw) and I have never seen it SO bad. Our infrastructure is falling apart. The whole state is on a steady decline to disparity. My wife and I recently were selected for positions at DIA! We start August 31st and can't wait to get out of MI. Now if I can just sell my house....

Hey, I'm a fellow Michigander (GR) living in Denver now....but I've got lots of love for my home state. Colorado is great and I'll be here for a few more years, but nothing beats a summer on Lake Michigan!

Our initial plans are to rent once we get to Denver so we can get settled and get more acquainted with the city before making a decision to purchase a house. What areas of the city / metro can we find an affordable townhome to rent 800 - 1000 range max?

ColoradoHereWeCome,no offense taken at all,
at least 90% of us in the English community who live in this FROZEN HELL HOLE are here because we are stock here and all of us whom are upwardly mobile are spending night and day toiling to be able to relocate to either Ontario,British Columbia or the States where the cost of living is higher unfortunatly.
You must have encounter that patented anti-English attitude that exist here on the part of French canadian majority.
You see these morons spend 10s of millions of $ advertising to the united states and the rest of Canada to visit their sh*tty land,YET once the few tourist who bother to come there happened to be either american or English Canadians they get treated like SH*T.
I hope everything work's out for you relocating to Denver, things are starting to look up for me too,if i can get full and equal value for my share of the Aftermarket speed shop garage business i have invested in with 2 other people, than if i can get just a fair price(rather than a good one) for my big downtown loft(the market here is a disaster) and cash my portfolio than i too will be able to relocate to Denver without lowering my lifestyle.Good Luck CHWC!

Another Grand Rapidian looking to relocate in Denver here. It's not because we don't like Grand Rapids. We absolutely LOVE it here. We'll miss the miles of beaches, boating in the summer and all the trees. While most of Michigan is really hurting, Grand Rapids is doing very well and we love the city.

I am making a career change and found employment in Denver. We've been out three times and really like the city.

Hopefully the mountains and rivers will replace our love for Lake Michigan.

Ah! So nice Canadians do exist. Haha! My whole life I grew up in Buffalo - 20 minutes from the border, so I was there a lot. I knew a ton of people from Toronto, Ontario, etc. I'm glad to see that people there notice how mean some are, of course there are snobs everywhere. Quebec City and Montreal were my favorite places in the world until I visited two months ago. It was the worst trip I've ever had. The only good part was Ste. Catherine street (which I try to avoid up there because it's basically just America, and I like culture change! It was the only place we felt accepted rather than tolerated). I'm glad that some people can see us American's aren't that bad of people! Good luck in Denver to you too, maybe we'll meet someday. I hope you get where you're going and love it.
