The voter's in Colorado are about 30% Democrat, 30% Republican and 40% independent so you don't find a lot of extremists on either side (except maybe in Boulder, but that's basically another planet). I find most people don't like to talk about politics unless it is with their friends who have somewhat similar views.

Are you referring to corporate handouts or social welfare?

The defense industry takes the cake for handouts in CO.

To me, Colorado has a pretty good political climate where the democrats and republicans both have seemed more pragmatic than their counterparts from other states. The state isn't perfect, but I think we've done a decent job of avoiding deficits or stupid projects / programs without succumbing too much "bargain bin" lowest tax rate nonsense.

Plenty of Republican extremists on the eastern plains. Also basically another planet.

So the most educated people are the ones "looking for handouts"? I fancy myself a dang liberal I suppose. I have a six figure salary and work damn hard. My liberal friends do as well. I didn't stop caring about less fortunate people once I started making money. I'm not sure what you're getting at here, guy. Please explain, bud.

Agreed. I remember what it felt like to work my way through college on a low wage job and I'll never forget my hard working colleagues who at the time put in 40+ hour weeks, still barely able to pay rent. I am a hard working, proud Colorado liberal who makes a decent salary, and can't for the life of me, understand selfish members of our community who look down on those who make less and assume they are sitting around being lazy and looking for a "handout." Unbelievable.
