I have never been to Denver, and know nothing about it! HELP!
We are relocating to Denver and work is going to be in Westminster. Not sure where to move to and need some ideas. Here is what is important to us. (we are moving from MN & have kids) 1. home price range $ 250,000-450,000 (3+ bedroom) 2. a treed yard, preferrable an acre or more. (country/woodsy!) 3. Good schools 4. a commute that is less than 35 minutes to Westminster We would prefer not to be in large developments, like our space.. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! kari |

To get 1+ acre, within a 35 min. drive of Westminster, you will have to look north, probably up to Weld County. I think the southernmost part of Weld County is in the St. Vrain Valley SD, which is a "good" school district. You will not find "woodsy" as in Minnesota.

If you want wooded acreage, I'm assuming you're thinking foothills. Depending on where in Westminster, you certainly could look at foothills areas, like Coal Creek Canyon, which on a good day is probably about 30-40 minute commute to parts of Westminster. (On a haavy snowy day, however, you may not even get to work at all!) They have good jeffco schools there, so that won't be a problem. These would be well/septic properties, so you'd need to know if that's something you can handle.
Price range, though, is likely going to be 400k+ on up into the millions. At the upper end of your price range, you might find something. |

That's the only part you might have to budge on; Denver and its surroudings is simply not a "woodsy" kind of place. Not to mention that anything semi-rural, close to the city is going to cost a heck of a lot more than $450k.
