Denver is Sunnier than MN all year. Much Much less Humidity. And maybe a little more liberal in a good way. Cost of living is less too... YES I just said that. Factor in Income tax rate and property tax and you will see what I mean. More mild winters. May get as much snow or close but the temps stay tolerable in CO where MN temps can drop to temps that are ridiculous to think about. Also, MN has severe windchill.

Minneapolis has much more culture and a much more diverse lifestyle and population both. Mountains area great but if you dont do mountain stuff then MN kills Denver in the activities category Im sorry. Lakes, Trails, Bicycling, ATV, Horseback, Shooting, fishing, ,hunting, you name it... you can do it all in both places but CO offers more in the Ski category where MN offers more in the Water Sports.

Minneapolis is very nice. Very connected. Transit, infrastructure etc all fantastic. Denveer is coming around nicely but still a little behind. However, Denver is making some serious headway and will be very nice real soon.

Minneapolis people are friendly, but hard to get in with. I can say that because Im a Native Minnesotan and I know How difficult I am to become friends with....lol. But seriously, it will be harder to make friends in MN because one simple reason, most of them already have enough friends. They grew up with the same people they are friends with today.... It may take a little work. Denver, i found it very easy to get along with most people and make friends or at least good acquaintances.

Denver has beautiful summers, falls and even the spring if you get one. No bugs hardly, very low humidity, warm sunnny skies etc.

Minneapolis can get muggy often, however to me the temps do not get that high so i personally do not feel it there until it gets over 83-85 degrees. I still wear Jeans and long sleeves in August in MN and love it. But it can get hot and very humid in MN and with heat and humidity come lots of bugs and especially mosquitoes and horseflies. UGH and they all bite! literally .... bad... real bad...

Other than the weather and the mountains, I think most people would find living in either location very similar. Both are pleasant cities with a lot to offer anyone. MN has a few political things that i will never agree with and will not get into n a forum board and they would keep me from ever moving back even though my whole family is there and many friends still.

Please feel free to reach out.

These days I feel like state-wise MN is more conservative than CO - metro areas is toss up. Denver has become way more liberal and the Twin Cities have morphed slightly more conservative. I will say that it's interesting that MN as a whole was 1.5% away from going Republican in 2016 and CO was 4.5%. Not only did the poles say CO was closer for GOP than it actually was, MN swung 6.2% more conservative than actually predicted.

Denver winters suck, but MN winters are atrocious - no comparison in the misery factor. Denver summers are hotter but drier, so I'd say it's a toss up there - but when you factor in there are no mosquitos in Denver, well - Denver wins again. As far as rating the friendliness of people, Denver is again a clear winner. Housing in Denver is higher, but you don't pay socialism level taxes like you do in MN so over time I think the col actually favors Denver. Mountains vs lakes is a question only you can answer. If you can't live without water sports, forget the front range.
