I think RH would be excellent for the weeknight. 5K is reasonable too, especially after hearing about how people spent 10K on the wedding alone.

How about the Rose Garden in Littleton (not Hudson Gardens) on S. Bemis Street? You could call the Parks Department directly to find out more. I know that they let people have events there but don't know the cost.

Do you know that in Colorado you can solemnize (spelling?) your own vows? You just put together your own ceremony and sign your marriage certificate, and it is all legal. That would save money from having to pay a minister or officiant.

yeah, you don't really need an official for your wedding certificate. My friend is a judge and did ours. He works for Denver County so he was able to get it recorded and everything for free. I know other judges charge from $100-$300. I thought it was nice to choose our own vows.

You can get married at Chatauqua Pk in Boulder, but they don't close down the park. So it's you, your guests, and whatever Boulderites happen to be in the park that day. I agree with not going broke, but I would suggest altering the budget if need be to have the food prepared. It's not the time to be doing a lot of cooking, or to ask anyone else who has a major role (MOB, other family members, etc) to cook as well.

I agree with Katiana. When I said my mom and grandmother cut fruit and such, it was just that, no cooking. And they offered, otherwise I would have had that catered too. It's just such a big day, no one wants to bother with that.

Also, it's one reason why we limited invitees to family only. We didn't want to get carried away with inviting friends, and them inviting their friends, etc. It kept the group small so that the food/alcohol costs were low too.

The OP said they were marrying in Sept. Isn't that about the time to see all the neat Aspen trees?

In the mtns. Here in the Denver area, the trees, such as they are, turn a little later. The Aspen do not turn pretty colors down here.

Default Wedding Ideas

Hi, this is just an idea that I have came across, we are getting married October 11, 2008. One option if you want something close to Golden that I came across this past weekend, is the eldora lodge, I dont remember exactly where I found it (somehwer in wedidng stuff) and the web site is under construction right now, but its Eldora Lodge : We were looking for something a little out of town and kind of like a vacation for everyone, plus the further you go, the less people that are going to come! Only the important ones, you can invite them anyway, just to make yourself feel better, but they probably wont come, but we have a guest list of over 100.....so thats prob a good thing for us. The Eldora lodge has qouted us $1,000 a night for 8 individual rooms, plus a honey moon suite, plus full use of the kitchen, they have an indoor space for guests, and plenty of outdoor space too, we have a party tent we want to use- $99 + shipping and handling= 150.00 for a 10' X 30 ' white wedding party tent with side walls and windows at
Outdoor Leisure*Party Tents & Gazebos*Golf Clubs Discount Golf Sets in california, you could not rent one that cheap! It holds 50 people. (thats just another idea, now back to the lodge.........it also has a playground area + 3 acres of land, barbe que grills, jacuzzi' and decks, RV and other parking, it really sounds like a great place to do everything on your own for this price. We haven't checked it out yet, but we are probably going this week end to look at it along with our other option, which could give us more nights for about the same price. Origanally, we were going to have our wedding at home, but then we started worrying about space and wheather and all that stuff. We live in a small house, so I started looking at vacation rentals mostly around Breckenridge because they have the most, and it's really pretty there. I have got responses from 6 of them that are willing to let us have our wedding there. the one we are going to look at is a 5,200 sq foot, 6 bedroom house that sleeps up to 20 people. There is plenty of space indoors and out, choose one without carpet in main living areas, one little drop and they will take all your deposit! This one has a flat yard space outside ( for tent) which is a little tricky for that area to find. They have had weddings there before, oh and there is plenty of parking space.......Oh yeah, and the best part.....$450.00 a night! Some of them charge up to $1,000 dollar (refundable) damage deposit though and some of them charge cleaning fees. The good thing about the lodge is that the 1,000 is a flat fee. here are a couple of my favorite vacation rentals, that we are going to look at. Let me know if you would like more, that except weddings!

You can also check out this website for houses.....

The only other thing I can think of to help you out is, if you are going to have brides maids, then I found these dresses at davids bridal for $39.99 each, they are regular-$150.00. they have an outlet online where you can buy dresses, but you need to get them big so they can be fitted because they cant be returned or exchanged. Here is the link to all of them.
Sale | David's Bridal
I got these..........well, they got them, i was going too, for the price, but Oh well....In the color persimmon. That color had the most sizes available and it's nice for fall! I havent picked mine yet, but it probably wont be 39.99
David's Bridal - Bridesmaid OTL81128 OTL81128

well, I can't really think of anything else right now, as far as Im concearned the location is the most difficult part, I cant wait to get that behind us! Then it's all down hill from there, we have an option on another place through the teamsters from his job but thats only one night, but alot of space!....oh wedding invitations/ Target, they have some where you can go to a website and print them yourself. 50 for about $29.99
Dont worry about party favors, people throw them away! I know I have, and I can't even remember what the brides maids were wearing at the last wedding I went too. People remember food and fun! so good luck and keep your money in the important places.

I think I made my email address where I could receive emails, so let me know if you need anything that I might be able to help you with, and let me know if you have came accross any good deals!

Wendy

Default Wedding Venue

My organization has a small venue in Denver that might do for your wedding. If you can give me an address to send you a brochure about it, I'll be happy to do it.

I think if you're creative enough, you can get everything pretty cheap, even down to cheap wedding invitations. The most expensive thing will be the venue, so I hope you get a good deal on that. All of the other stuff you should be able to get the best deals on by searching online, or maybe ask people that had weddings recently. Sounds like hand-me-downs, but if you're really on a strict budget it can be one of the best money-saving tactics.
